New Year’s Eve in Times Square Features Record-Breaking Ball Drop
Times Square will welcome the New Year with the largest ball drop in its history, the Constellation Ball, which measures 12.5 feet in diameter and weighs over 12,000 pounds. This new ball, adorned with 5,280 Waterford crystals, will replace the previous design and symbolizes interconnectedness and positivity. The iconic ball drop, a tradition since 1907, will take place at 11:59 p.m. on December 31, 2025, as millions gather to celebrate and count down to midnight. This event not only marks the start of the New Year but also highlights a century-long tradition that has evolved significantly over the years.
