UTEP Secures $2 Million Federal Funding to Enhance Drone Research Facilities

The University of Texas at El Paso (UTEP) has received a $2 million federal appropriation aimed at expanding its drone research and operations. This funding will be utilized for upgrades at UTEP's aerial systems facilities located in Fabens and Tornillo, which will include enhancements in radar and electrical systems, as well as the acquisition of new equipment. The initiative is expected to create new job opportunities in both teaching and research for faculty and students.
