UTEP Launches $102 Million Miner Crossing Dormitory for Students

The University of Texas at El Paso has officially commenced construction on a new dormitory named 'Miner Crossing,' with a budget of $102 million. This five-story building will accommodate 507 students, offering rooms designed for one to two occupants. Located next to Kidd Field, the dorm will feature a dining area capable of serving 1,400 meals daily, alongside study spaces, a gaming area, and a fitness center. UTEP President Heather Wilson emphasized the dorm's importance due to a consistent waiting list for campus housing over the past four years, driven by an increase in applicants from outside El Paso. The facility is expected to be ready for students by the fall semester of 2028.
