Join Desert Rescue 915 for July 4th Clean-Up at Red Sands

Following the July 4th celebrations, Desert Rescue 915 is organizing a clean-up event at Red Sands this weekend in collaboration with Precinct 1 Commissioner Jackie Butler and the Montana Vista fire department. Executive director Rick Flores emphasizes the importance of keeping the desert clean, noting that the aftermath typically includes discarded fireworks, alcohol containers, and other litter. He anticipates collecting around 100 bags of trash this year, up from 70 bags last year, highlighting the ongoing need for community awareness regarding environmental responsibility. Volunteers are encouraged to join the effort, which begins at 7:30 a.m. at the designated location.
