El Paso Native Alberto Silva Joins ABC-7 as New Producer

Alberto Silva Fernandez, a local graduate from The University of Texas at El Paso, has been appointed as a producer at ABC-7. Silva, who graduated from Montwood High School, developed his passion for journalism and photography through the yearbook program. His impressive credentials include serving as Editor in Chief of UTEP's student newspaper, The Prospector, and completing a photojournalism internship at the El Paso Times. He has also received notable scholarships, including the Buster Haas Minority Internship Scholarship, allowing him to further his experience at The Fort Worth Report. His involvement in the National Association of Hispanic Journalists (NAHJ) highlights his commitment to supporting fellow Hispanic journalists.
