El Paso Fire Department Celebrates Women’s Empowerment for International Women’s Month

In recognition of International Women’s Month, six female firefighters from the El Paso Fire Department (EPFD) worked an entire shift together, showcasing female empowerment in a traditionally male-dominated field. This all-female crew symbolizes the progress made by women in firefighting, where only 19 out of approximately 900 firefighters in El Paso are women. Lieutenant Elizabeth Morales emphasized the importance of sisterhood among women in the profession, while fellow firefighter Andreya Barrera encouraged other women to pursue careers in firefighting, highlighting the diverse strengths they bring to the team.
